Studio Gulmoh is a boutique architecture and interior design practice based in Gurgaon, working on private residences and select hospitality projects. Our buildings are designed to be comfortable by nature, built from honest materials, and to grow more beautiful with age.
Named for the gulmohar, a tree that gives shade before it gives flowers.
The gulmohar is planted for its shade. The flowers come later, in the hottest weeks of the year, when the shade matters most. We try to design the same way: get the shade, the breeze and the light right first, and let the building look good because of that rather than in spite of it.
We take on a select number of projects at a time and stay with each one from the first site visit to the final fitting. The people who design the house are the same people on site when it is built.
Our work spans India, with projects in Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Mumbai, Goa, Telangana and Tamil Nadu, as well as Dubai and Singapore.
Architecture
Private residences, villas and boutique hospitality. We begin with the sun and the wind and plan the building around them, so it stays cool for most of the year on its own.
Interiors
Rooms that are easy to live in. Stone, timber, lime plaster and fabric, chosen for how they feel and how they wear. We draw the joinery and lighting ourselves and check it on site.
Sustainability
Shade, cross ventilation, daylight, rainwater and materials sourced close to the site. A house that needs less air conditioning and less upkeep costs less to run, and that is the sustainability we care about.
Projects are shared privately.
